Confused Hope was actually my Graduation Project. It was the first time I deal with animation design.
The very beginning of the story came to my mind as I was listening deeply to one of my favorite songs called (Heat Miser by Massive Attack).
Suddenly I started to draw and connect lines with ideas in my mind. I kept thinking and thinking until I saw the whole movie rolling in my head.
The next day I woke up having the same idea but it was getting bigger and stronger and I was very excited with the thoughts I got.
So I went to my supervisors Dr.Fares Garabet and Dr.Abdulwareth Laham and told them that my graduation project is going to be a Video Clip for the track I already mentioned.
The supervisors reaction was as the following "it's a nice and strong idea but can you take all what's in your mind and make a stop motion movie of it without having knowledge of how to start with such a thing?!".
I didn't have any idea of how to make a stop motion movie neither how to build the main character or the environment set. But my feelings of excitement were way much stronger than my fears that made me go learn online by watching tutorial videos related to stop motion. So I gave them my word that my graduation project will be as good as the description I gave.
I had a very tight schedule and I had to finish my project within 3 months.
I went to the basement and started working hard everyday until I got the whole vision in my mind settled.
"Confused Hope" took the highest grade. All supervisors and audience were very amused, enjoyable and motivated while watching.
I'm really proud and satisfied that I had the opportunity to learn something new, work by my own, and make an artwork that will remain in my collage as a reference for the next generation students.
